CENTRAL LAKE ARMOR EXPRESS, INC., WINS NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS CONTRACT

Central Lake, MI, 05/2008 - CENTRAL LAKE, MI (For Immediate Release, May, 2008) - A contract to provide approximately 1200 concealable body armor units to the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) has been awarded to Central Lake Armor Express, Inc.

The recent two-year contract is for the company’s new GEMINI Dual Purpose Armor. It carries a ballistic threat level of IIA and Spike level 3, offering both ballistic and puncture protection from shanks and spikes.

The Gemini family of corrections armor uses a novel patent pending technology, and is extremely light and flexible, according to Matt Davis, CLAE president and CEO.

“We’re pleased and proud to have been selected for this contract,” he said. “We exceeded all the criteria plus provided a very competitive bid. With almost 9,000 officers, New Jersey is one of the largest corrections departments in the country.” Three other major companies submitted bids for the contract.

Among the criteria used by the NJDOC body armor evaluation committee were factors like comfort and fit. The Gemini IIA, SPK 3 model offers 100% waterproof seam-sealed pad covers and a highly functional Evolution carrier system.

Recently, Central Lake Armor Express, Inc. was also selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to exclusively provide 10,000 units of correctional armor over the next five years.
