IT Director

As Armor Express’ IT Director, Laks oversees the Company’s end-to-end Information Technology strategy, digital transformation,  infrastructure, including guiding all technology operations and systems, ERP migration projects and other related platform developments to achieve business goals. He is also responsible for managing enterprise security risks, ensuring compliance requirements are met, and enhancing end-user experience.

Laks brings to Armor Express more than 20 years of experience across several industries, with expertise in IT and digital transformation. He has worked at large, global organizations, midsize companies, and emerging start-ups. Before joining Armor Express, he most recently served as Head of IT (Regional CIO), North America for Swissport, a multi-billion airport ground services company with global operations in nearly 50 countries. While with Swissport, he spearheaded all IT initiatives in North America, leading digital transformation programs, applications development, cyber security and compliance, systems alignment, and new technology adoption for over 20,000 employees. He was Head of IT for Hallmark Aviation Services, a ground handling and Airport Lounge Services Company for some of the world’s leading airlines and a joint investment by Swissport and Qantas Airways. With Hallmark, he played a similar role, overseeing all IT initiatives with a focus on digital transformation and the Company’s cloud ERP migration. Earlier in his career, He also held various leadership, management, engineering and product management roles.

Laks also funded and ran technology consulting company that provided growth stage organizations and startups with technology transformation and fractional CIO services. Throughout his engagements, he oversaw technology strategies, transformations, budgets, use of digital applications, ERP migrations and overall programs to drive scale and productivity enhancements through technology.

Laks is a native of Ashburn, Virginia. He received a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications degree from the University of Madras, Chennai.
