Michael Lewis, Vice President, Human Resources joined Armor Express in January 2022. In leading the human resources function, Michael is focused on creating meaningful experiences within the employment life cycle and enhancing the value proposition for Armor Express careers in Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, R&D, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Leadership. The core values of Armor Express, including Drive, Integrity, Customer Focus, and Innovation serve as a beacon for human resources functions at Armor Express, and Michael’s continuing efforts are to ensure that the business is guided by these principles.
In a human resources career spanning over 20 years, Michael has supported a variety of institutions in roles of increasing responsibility. He was most recently an HR Director at Morgan Olson in southside Virginia executing a large factory startup by headcount planning and staffing, implementing effective employee relations strategies, and overseeing training and development programs for team members in a variety of functions. He previously spent more than 5 years with Axalta Coating Systems in Northern Virginia as a regional Operations and Supply Chain human resources leader with responsibilities across multiple North American production and distribution sites. His key career accomplishments have focused on data analysis to support people-related business decisions, career pathing and training program management for hourly workforces, and establishing effective workforce communication strategies that scale an organization.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech as well as a Masters of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University received in 2004. Married with two spirited and talented daughters, Michael and his family reside near Eden operations in Summerfield, North Carolina.
