As Director of Product Management and Design, Steve is responsible for Armor Express’ overall product strategy and offering, working with leadership, sales, R&D and the Company’s channel partners, to drive innovation and enhance protection. He also leads the Carrier Design team, with key focus on differentiation, quality assurance, standardization, and customization, ensuring all products meet the mission-critical needs of the Company’s diverse customer base. He also directs training and education programs, supports new business development initiatives, and conducts live-fire shoots in the field.
Steve has served the Michigan community in Law Enforcement, Tactical, Corrections, and Fire/EMS over the last two decades. His career started as a licensed paramedic/firefighter, then transitioning to certified corrections and subsequently, to the law enforcement field, where he served as a tactical team member (SWAT) and tactics/firearms instructor. Steve had the honor of being a member of the Grosse Pointe/Harper Woods Special Response Team while working for Grosse Pointe Shores Public Safety; the DeWitt Charter Township PD; and the Clinton County Special Operations, where he spent many years as the Team Commander. He also served as Deputy/Detective for Tri-County METRO Narcotics and finished his law enforcement career as Deputy for the Clinton County Sheriff Office.
Steve lives by the core values and mission to save lives by providing the best ballistic protection to LEOs and First Responders. After his distinguished career, he’s still able to stand with his brothers and sisters who remain on the front lines, by keeping them safe through his service at Armor Express.
Steve currently serves as an adjunct board member of the Michigan Tactical Officers Association. He is a graduate of the 62nd Mid-Michigan Police Academy and the Fire Academy and holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science EMT/Paramedic from Lansing Community College.
